Do not mix signature requirements with photograph requirements. A separate SSC photograph requirement may use approximately 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm with a 20–50 KB file-size range; those figures apply to a photograph, not to the signature, and should also be confirmed in the applicable notification on ssc.gov.in.

How to Resize Your SSC Signature

2. Review the Automatic Crop and Detection

After the image loads, the tool analyses the visible handwriting area and prepares an initial crop automatically. 3. Adjust the Crop in the Original Preview When Needed

If the automatic crop needs correction, use the cropping lines or handles directly on the Original Preview. Keep the complete beginning, ending, upper and lower strokes of the signature inside the crop. The crop should frame the signature without squeezing or stretching the handwriting.

4. Select the Required Output or Enter Custom Values

Choose the available output option that matches the instructions you are following. If you use Custom, enter the exact width and height required by the form and set the maximum KB value in the available field. Dimensions can vary between notifications, so verify custom values against the application instructions on ssc.gov.in.

5. Check the Preview, Safety Information and Output Status

Review the processed preview together with the pixel dimensions, file-size information and safety/status panel. If you move a crop line even slightly, wait for the current result to refresh and check that the complete signature remains visible. A technically resized file should still look like the original signature and should not lose important strokes.

6. Download and Verify the JPEG

When the current result has finished processing and the Download button is active, save the JPEG/JPG file to your device. Open the downloaded image once before submission and compare it with the signature instructions for your specific SSC form. Common Reasons SSC Signatures Get Rejected

Wrong Ink Colour

If the applicable notification asks for a particular ink colour, a source signature made in another colour may not meet that instruction. Fix: use a fresh source that follows the ink-colour requirement stated for your application instead of digitally recolouring the signature.

Blurry or Unclear Scan

Heavy blur can remove thin strokes before resizing even begins. Fix: start with a sharper scan or a steady, well-focused phone photo in which the handwriting is easy to recognise.

Wrong Aspect Ratio or Distorted Shape

Stretching a narrow signature into a taller shape, or squeezing it too aggressively, can make the result look unnatural. Fix: frame the signature with the crop area and use the selected output dimensions without deliberately distorting the handwriting.

File Size Outside the Allowed Range

A signature can look correct but still fail an upload check when its JPEG file size falls outside the required range. Fix: review the final file-size status and make sure the prepared file follows the 10–20 KB target and any instructions stated in your notification.

Tilted or Vertical Signature

A source captured in the wrong orientation may appear sideways or vertical after processing. Fix: use the rotation control when needed, then inspect the refreshed Original Preview and processed result before downloading.

Part of the Signature Is Cropped

A crop that is too tight can remove the first stroke, final flourish, dot or another important mark. Fix: inspect all sides of the Original Preview and move the crop boundary outward whenever any part of the handwriting is too close to the edge or has been cut off.

Why can a resized SSC signature still be rejected?

Resizing can prepare the image dimensions, JPEG format and file size, but it cannot correct every problem in the original signature.
